Smart Aqkol is one of Kazakhstan's pioneering smart city models, developed under the Digital Kazakhstan programme. It combines digital infrastructure with a central Situation Centre that brings city data and services together in one place.
The delegation was shown how the city runs the Internet of Things, smart metering, video surveillance with analytics, environmental monitoring, traffic management, smart lighting and digital connectivity — all directed at public services, safety and urban efficiency.
GBA Chairman Ahmad Ikram Lone noted that this experience could be connected with Gujranwala's own development and serve as a basis for technology and knowledge cooperation between Pakistan and Kazakhstan.
